Committed to the historic preservation of our treasured places.

Founded in 2019, the Schuyler County Architecture Foundation was created to help bring awareness to the historic places of Schuyler County, Illinois. Through our mission, we “Give our buildings of the past a voice for the future.”

This mission helps us to accomplish our vision to “Educate and inspire all of Schuyler County about the inherent power of historic architecture to enrich our community and our lives.”

Our premier project is the renovation of Rushville’s Ray House. That work is complemented by our educational outreach.

Our outreach.

Community Education

Our “town hall” style education events help participants further explore the key elements and events that have shaped Schuyler County’s architectural history. These fun evenings feature a speaker and refreshments, as well as, lots and lots of inspiration for keeping our architectural history alive in Schuyler County!

Historic Plaque Program

This free program tells the story of Schuyler County’s architectural history by encouraging the recognition, preservation and restoration of our historic buildings. Each year, we select a limited number of properties to receive a unique bronze plaque which recognizes the building’s special role in the history of Schuyler County.
